Vista Ridge High School in POWER Zone is home to are the Wolves. It's the newest high school in District 49. As a comprehensive, student focused high school, the Project Lead the Way Engineering Academy is the hallmark of its science, technology, engineering and math program, which includes an all female engineering class.[1]


The school takes student success seriously. A large portion of students are involved in high academic rigor, with many taking pre-Advanced Placement and advanced placement classes. AP and pre-AP course offerings start as early as freshman year with expanded opportunities junior and senior years. There are AP courses in all four core subject areas as well as the art department.


With more than 80 percent of the students engaged in extracurricular activities, there are many opportunities to get involved at Vista Ridge High School, such as student council, Distributive Education Clubs of America, National Honor Society, fall and winter drumline, color guard, Knowledge Bowl, CyberPatriot, anime club, Alpha Leaders, Key Club, FIRST Robotics, FCA, GSA, dance club, marching band, and the Wolfpack Theatre Company. For those with interest in vocal music or theater, both departments excel with multiple performances throughout the year. The school benefits from an active Booster Club and Fine Arts Booster Club.


For sports, the school offers boy’s and girl’s cross country, football, boy’s golf, boy’s soccer, girl’s softball and girl’s volleyball, boy’s and girl’s basketball and wrestling, boy’s baseball, girl’s golf, girl’s soccer and boy’s and girl’s track. Vista Ridge High School won their first State Track Championship in only its fifth year. Cheerleading is active during both fall and winter sports seasons and student athletic training is available for all seasons. Vista Ridge High School celebrated the grand opening of the only artificial turf football and soccer stadium and baseball complex in District 49.
