Odyssey Elementary School, located in POWER Zone at 6275 Bridlespur Avenue in Colorado Springs, opened eight years ago as a science and math focus school with a space emphasis. The school's focus has shifted to include engineering and technology, as it becomes a distinct science, technology, engineering and math elementary school. The educators strive to be not only a STEM focused school, but also a neighborhood school that serves as a hub for its community.[1]

Odyssey Elementary School is one of the founding positive behavior support schools in the district, making it a priority to ensure and sustain a positive and safe culture. Its students know what it means to be safe, trustworthy, accountable, respectful successful through the STARS program. Faculty added to this belief by embracing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts philosophy.

The highly individualized curriculum leverages the strengths of all students, while challenging them to achieve. An integrated approach to teaching the curriculum helps students see the relationships in their learning in all subjects.

Educators strive to support and educate the whole child by offering before and after school programs and opportunities, such as Young Rembrandts, Lego Robotics, student council, choir, cross country and track, basketball, archery and cup stacking.

Odyssey Elementary School believes in being a partner with families. The school offers a Parent-Teacher Association and invites all parents to be part of their child’s education. It supports PTA events, such as the Harvest Celebration, Spring Carnival, STEM night and musical performances. WatchDOGS provide positive male role models for all children.
